Stanford White Commemorative Stamp Special Collection 1979-1982

Stanford White, a partner of the architectural firm McKim, Mead, & White (1879-1906), designed several buildings of the University Heights campus of New York University, including the Gould Memorial Library (c. 1895). The campus is now part of the Bronx Community College of the City University of New York. The United States Postal Service selected Stanford White to be one of four architects honored in a block of stamps issued in 1979 in commemoration of American architecture.
